I was out with Adam today for the first of his two days of winter climbing and after a bit of discussion we decided to go and put his new tools to use. Adam has a broad experience of winter walking and some easy winter climbing but he does lead E3 in summer so isn't exactly new to most of the kit. We had a great day out on North Buttress on the Bauchaille which gave us three good pitches of IV,4 and gave Adam plenty of opportunity to get used to some mixed climbing and with Stu and MIC trainee seconding along with him he had a huge amount of input and coaching. Today I was working for Hebridean Pursuits.
Some good Scottish weather.
That's a bit better.
